50: an introspective study

On the occasion of my 50th birthday, I started a photographic investigation with myself as the sole subject of study. The project explored the potential of photography as a medium for reminiscence (1974–2024), reflection (2024–2025), and transformation (beyond 2025). I employed various methodologies, including photo journaling, therapeutic self-portraiture, and re-enactment photography. The images were presented as thermal prints. These imperfect prints fade quickly and eventually disappear entirely, as there is no way to fix them. This introspective study offers a glimpse into the personal experience of a photographer confronting middle age, and examines the role visual media can play in navigating such a transformative life phase.
